Green Mountain Coffee Brewers

I found these first at my local supermarket. I've been looking for a blend that I could use as my standard every-day cup of coffee and, finally, this was it. I've tried so many of the other blends and brands and they were either harsh and bitter (I know, some people think coffee *should* taste that way!) or too bland and weak. This is smooth but with a nice "coffee" presence you can actually taste. *Coffee* taste, not burned grounds!

I highly recommend this if you're *not* into the "make your hair stand on end" type of coffee. This review is based on using the "medium" size on the coffee machine. You may get different results if you use the small or large dispenser sizes.
Green Mountain Coffee Brewers
Have tried many varieties of K cups and green mountain is the best. My favorite blend is breakfast blend. Mild coffee, if you like Dunkin Donuts, you will like this. If you are a starbucks drinker, try a bolder blend.
Green Mountain Coffee Brewers
I'm glad to taste this one; it's ideal for me, not bitter. Taste is smooth, whether adding sugar/cream or black. I'll order more.
Green Mountain Coffee Brewers
I love this coffee. As I get older, my stomach can't seem to take the really strong blends. Breakfast Blend is perfect. Great flavor without hurting my stomach. Amazon has the best price with free shipping. I only wish I could start an automatic refill of my order.

Update
Yea!!! This coffee can finally be ordered with an automatic refill. I am always guaranteed the lowest price and don't have to worry about searching for it. I am one happy Amazon, coffee lover.

Cloud Laser Art

Cloud Laser Art

A new art form in the future will be CLA. Cloud Laser Art. People can go to a place where there are laser units, sit out side in a small shielded area and draw on the clouds. It would be fun and a great form of self expression, which would make humans very happy. We know that mankind likes to use the natural environment for self expression from cave drawings to rock piles near road ways and graffiti on rock formations. The idea of drawing on clouds is much better, because the cloud eventually dissolves and like an etch-a-sketch is ready to start over. This will be similar to what happens after Ice Carvings, Ice Sculpting is alive and well in North America.
We have all heard of Sand Castle building and contests, which go on around the world.

Often you will watch kids throw rocks into a glass clear pond or lake. They will throw one rock in and then another and say; “Okay, those are the eyes.” Often people star up into the clouds and try to imagine a face, shape or resemblance to something in the 3D physical world. We have often seen pictures where the clouds appear in the shape of Jesus or a face and everyone calls it a miracle. Many people gaze up at the clouds and attempt to allow their minds to find a familiar shape or form. One might call this a frame burst from the brains memory and the mind fills in the rest and a seemingly regular cloud takes on the imagination and a new meaning. An interesting sub topic could be this article on visual stimulation and the brain:

People are fascinated by these coincidences. Rock formations often look like people from certain angles. The fallen “Old Man on The Mountain” was one such anomaly. Today we look to Mars and see faces in sediment and erosion features.

http://www.ascrocco.it/home/img/sf_desk/ar...o_marseface.jpg

You will have to admit this looks pretty real, so either we are not the only species which re-designs our natural surrounding or our mind automatically is filling in the blank, either way since kids, teens and adults do this and we find this interesting, it is an innate tendency and therefore a relevant idea to promote weather control research and manipulation, what better way to find research dollars than through entertainment?
This is something man has done for thousands of years. Some obvious examples are the Sphinx in the Valley of the Kings, cave paintings. We have heard of some famous stone artists, who claim they can see the inner sculpture within a stone before they start, as were comments by Michael Angelo. Freeing the statue inside. Today we have the famous rock carvings of Crazy Horse, which is nearly completed.

Why not put it on a cloud also? It is possible you know? Weather control, cloud art, etc. Mother Nature often does it for us, but if we focus our energies on controlling heat and light within a cubic artificial grid of air, then we will be able to control the clouds completely.

Art is certainly interesting and our obsession with nature and art is interesting in that it seems to be an innate need of mankind to be able to control his environment and to provide some order to the complexity born out of simplicity, which we see everywhere, a concept that Steven Wolfram would most certainly agree. Los Alamos is doing just that and soon will be able to do it on a larger scale with super computers. This will entail lots of number crunching, but well worth the energy and time and money to develop. We maybe able to control not only the weather but stop Hurricanes too.

As we learn to control the weather for purposes of drought mitigation, famine and disease control, feeding peoples of the world through abundant agriculture yields, flushing and controlling environmental pollutants or even giving us an edge on war planning, defensive barriers or safety during assaults, this technology to a lesser degree will be used as art.

Many things that come to be in the way of innovation are funded through entertainment, war or the mother of invention (necessity). Certainly as we look at the innovations in TV (high definition), Digital Displays (plasma screens), Transportation (race cars), General Hobby Aviation (composites, ultra-lights, exploits of Dick Rutan), Virtual Reality (theme parks, animation, portable mini-simulators).

we see that entertainment can provide the money flows to increase the speed at which these things come to market and the speed at which they are adopted by the users and thus entertainment has always been a quick way or short cut to the future inventions of mankind. The list is so long in fact in the area of art and entertainment and the innovations brought forth that it might be considered the largest single factor towards the contributions to the forward progress of mankind. Necessity as previously mentioned and War and Defense being close seconds. Art should never be discounted as it is generally coupled with entertainment and imagination and let’s not forget the words of Albert Einstein on imagination.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge...”

Is it possible that art can be the lead in to weather control? For instance drawing designs in the clouds instead of painting “I Love you Charlene” on a Hwy over pass cutting through rural Alabama, Mississippi or Georgia in John Dear Green, would be something of value as a way of self expression. A portable laser cloud drawing device could also be mounted in a semi truck if not a fixed location site for tourists or expressionists with a few extra bucks. A semi truck mounted unit could be hired to write a computerized message on the clouds for events, parties, etc. At a fixed site people would come for miles just to sit and watch what someone would write today. You can learn a lot from cloud watching.

You can learn about life, weather, flows of nature and you can unleash your imagination. Manipulating the clouds and localized weather can be done with modern and current technologies. This concept is simple really in terms of physics. The truck moves to the center of where the cloud will be and send up ELF waves and creates a small Terminal Gradient Cloud, then drives about 2 miles away and has a design already made on the computer and approved by the buyers of the message: “Congratulations Graduating Class of West Point” or “God Bless America and our Troops” when as they de-plane or get off a ship. Great for weddings, bar mitzvah, country fair or you be the judge. In areas of big events people could pay to write their own message on the computer and the laser cuts the cloud and shades in the design or words and letters.

This is simple and not much different than the cutting of vinyl lettering by computers used by modern day sign makers. Very simple, using a 3-D program which knows the power intensity levels, based on the distance which is measured by laser which senses the moisture content in the clouds based on the distance from the device. On one side of the semi truck is a chemical laser and the other side another, when combined at exactly the right distance at very low power settings they interact in various amounts, which have been designed into the computer program coinciding with the amounts of energy and chemical needed to dissolve the cloud. Since the Lasers are chemical based even though quite low, color could also be added and chemicals normally found in atmospheric make-up, thus no harm no foul with environmentalists. This form of art is not too dissimilar to the smoke signal communication of the Native American Indians, the only difference it is done with modern technology and therefore the versatility is so much greater.

Once the design is entered into the computer on a CadCam type program or graphic art program it is sent to the laser system and it starts pulsating the lasers under extreme accuracy using sophisticated algorithms and data sets. After the system is built and configured it is ready to go and during transportation the laser heads and chemicals are stored at proper temperatures in stable tanks. And remember art is not the only use for this, for instance see some ideas below. Now you must note at the WTT we like to have a little fun and the night we discussed this at a local coffee shop in Springfield, MO we definitely were in a comedy mood with a touch of sarcasm. However these ideas will make you think and isn’t that the point of this exercise? Sure you will get a chuckle out of it also we did. The World Think Tank is a lot of fun.

A. ) For advertising things could be written in the clouds too. “Drink Coke,” “Fly Delta, but Hurry! We need the money,” “Vote for Dog Catcher, NJ Former Governor,” “CT former governor runs for Hartford County Auditor,” “Gray Davis for Public Treatment Facility Director.” We all know aerial advertising is big business, look at the Blimps, Skywriters, etc.

B.) ….For safety, things could be written in the clouds during rush hour. “Mixing Bowl” four hour wait, use different route, “HWY 1” three hour wait go back to work, you are better off there? “Free Parking on 405 to La Cienega use alternate.” Bridge out ahead. New York Toll Way Fees raised today to .86 please have exact change ready to prevent delays, no refunds?” Just write it in the clouds, since you will be looking up praying to your god for break in traffic for this cluster muck you have to drive in everyday? Perfect solution, with an artistic flair? But in all seriousness you can see the benefits, “Dense Fog Ahead, slow down, multi-car pile-up, freeway closed all traffic exit at mile 122.” In Montana during deer migration, “Watch out for Deer, Do Not Eat Road Kill” Public Service announcements are often put on Blimps:

C.) For big events; “Use Shuttle at Parkway for NASCAR event, Parking .00.” “Olympic Check Point, have ID ready.” “Democratic National Convention Ahead, Lots of parking available.” “Cody WY Nightly Rodeo, 7 PM.” But these of course are merely words on clouds, for the RNC they might want a Giant American Flag? The DNC might want a big tree with a couple of guys hugging it? You see big events can stay in the spirit of things and get out the true message. NASCAR might want a holographic design of Dale Earnhardt at the Daytona Speedway before the event. Blue Angels might wish to have a message about “Fly Navy” with a picture of an F-18 or JSF on the cloud for the crowd?

D.) For the People; Perhaps a Smog alert warning to warn people in Los Angeles due to a temperature inversion that day. In NY during Labor Day, perhaps a “High Terror Alert” in red? During the election, “Do Not Forget to Vote Today” in Florida with a reminder of how to press the right button in the computerized voting machines? On the beaches in San Diego, Fort Lauderdale, the Keys, Santa Monica, “Solar Flair Today, Use Sun Screen.” After Hurricane Charley, “USAA and State Farm go to MLK Jr. High School GYM,” “Relief assistance: FEMA and Salvation Army at Civic Center Auditorium.” “New Mobile Homes For Sale; Tornado Magnet IV Custom Deluxe on sale, financing available, OAC.” “Asteroid to Hit Earth Tomorrow, Run.”

E.) For National Security; Border Patrol, “You are being tracked by automated aircraft, turn back or you could be shot or killed” In Spanish of course. For USMC, “Dear Iranian Insurgents, give up or you will be killed in 12 seconds.” For US Navy, “This is a blockade, turn around now or you will be sunk.” For US Army Recruiting; “Keep America Green, Join the Army.” DHS; “Today’s Threat Level is Green.” Psych Wars: “This is Allah, you have been bad, go home and do not return.”

Cloud Laser art could do all these things much cheaper and safer from the ground and also such a new idea would gather much interest and the word of mouth of any message or image would travel quickly. CLA or Cloud Laser Art is possible and fairly easy to do, we currently have the technologies to do this, and it makes sense. This is the ultimate in self-expression and can be used for entertainment, safety, homeland security, big events and even advertising if used in good taste.

Cloud Sculpting is the next logical progression of this idea, where you could make a cloud in the shape of a dog, cat or a dolphin. Perhaps you might want to make a UFO out of the clouds to see how many people call in during the annual UFO conference in Las Vegas? Think of the PR for the city, such a publicity stunt would certainly draw a crowd.

Although they might rather have you inside the casinos spending your money than out on the street corner looking up in the sky just in time to get hit by a middle-eastern taxi cab, shuttle bus or limo driver? In this age of International Terrorism perhaps we ought to all pay attention to what’s happening in front of us and leave the cloud watching for recreational times?

Are Green Coffee Beans Good For You?

Are Green Coffee Beans Good For You?

It was exactly the third day that I was out of the country before the cravings became unbearable. All I could remember was that I felt like an addict, a drug addict.

I presumed that the addictiveness is of even greater intensity.

It's really nothing but the addiction to coffee.

Contrary to popular beliefs that coffee is harmful to health as in it is addictive and causes insomnia, moderate intake of coffee has proven to help in promoting better health. Not only it does provide antioxidants that boost the insulin level, it also reduces headaches and asthma attacks. As long as coffee is taken not more than three cups a day with relatively low sugar content, coffee is believed to be good for health.

I was once told, to get the best pizza, you will need to head to Italy; to get the best red wine, you will need to hail to France; but to get the best, finest cup of coffee in the world, you will need to be in Brazil. This is due to the fact that Brazil is the current largest coffee beans producer in the world and is known as the king of coffee world.

However, it is said that there are still other countries like Columbia, Cuba, Indonesia and others that do also produce fine coffee like Brazil. This relies largely on individual preferences. Some may like coffee that tastes bitter while some may like coffee to be a little sweeter. This is then brought us to numerous personality tests based on individual coffee preferences.

Coffee is regards as one of the most famous beverages of human beings and so, its supply must be continuous. The coffee plants are planted to obtain the coffee cherries which are ready to be harvested after 5 years of planting. The fruits of the cherries are then removed to obtain the coffee beans which are then being dried up. The methods used to process the coffee plants to get green coffee beans will affect the flavour of brewed or roasted coffee.

There are generally two types of coffee beans, being the Robusta and Arabica. Arabica consists of a wide array of roasted coffee flavours. It can be light roast, medium roast and dark roast coffee types. The light roast coffee is smoother and lighter in taste. As for Europeans, they are avid lovers of both the cappuccino and espresso.

The Top 10 Italian Inventions That Have Changed the World

The Top 10 Italian Inventions That Have Changed the World

ItemTitle

Italians are known for their explorers, famous opera singers and brilliant chefs. But what we might not be aware of is that Italians are also great inventors. In fact, many objects that we use in our daily lives would not be there if curious, imaginative and skillful Italian folk had not created them!

These are 10 Italian inventions that most of us use daily:

Cologne

After long historical debates it has been proven that the inventor of Cologne was Gian Paolo Feminis. He emigrated to the small city of Cologne, in Germany from a village near Santa Maria Maggiore in Piemonte, where he passed his secret recipe on to a fellow villager, Giovanni Maria Farina.

In 1708 Giovanni Maria Farina wrote to his brother; "I have discovered a scent that reminds me of a spring morning in Italy, of mountain narcissus, orange blossom just after the rain. It gives me great refreshment, strengthens my senses and imagination." He would come to name this new composition Eau de Cologne.

In 1709 Gian Paolo Feminis made his own cologne, called "Aqua Admirabilis"- which quickly became one of Napoleon's favorites.

Ice cream cone

"Would you like a cup or a cone?" - has become an ordinary question that we answer almost without thinking. It is hard for us to imagine that only a hundred years ago ice-cream was sold in serving glasses called "penny licks" (because you had to lick the ice cream from the glass, and it cost a penny to do so). As you can guess, it was not very sanitary, nor convenient. Glasses would break; people would often walk off with them and on hot summer days, the poor ice vendors were not able to keep up with demand, because they were constantly washing glasses returned by other customers.

Fortunately, in 1896 an enterprising salesman, Italo Marchiony, started selling the first edible containers filled with ice cream. Seven years later he also obtained a patent for a machine that produced edible ice cream cones that many of us like so much.

Pizza

'Pizza' is one of the very few words which is understood all over the world. And there is no doubt about the origin of this cheesy snack. The first pizza was "invented" in Naples around 1860s and was served without cheese. In 1889 to impress Queen Margherita of Savoy during her visit to Naples, she was served a pizza resembling the colors of the Italian flag, red (tomato), white (mozzarella) and green (basil). Rumors have it that she loved it and the delighted Neapolitans named this type of pizza after the queen - Pizza Margherita.

Eyeglasses

The thirteenth century Italian monk, Salvino D'Armate is credited with inventing wearable eye glasses, complete with convex and concave lenses. The first eyeglasses were balanced on the bridge of the nose, as stems were introduced four centuries later.

The espresso machine

You might ask yourself what inspired a person to invent an espresso machine? The answer is simple - frustration! In 1903 Luigi Bezzera, the owner of a manufacturing business in Milan, became really frustrated with how long it took his employees to take their coffee break. He figured that if he could find a way to speed up the coffee making process, his employees would spend less time on their coffee breaks and more time working. His coffee maker (which he patented the same year) used a combination of water and steam, forced under high pressure, to brew the coffee at a rapid pace. Bezzera called his new method "espresso," which in Italian means "pressed out." Despite his brilliant invention, his employees continue to take long coffee breaks, spending less time brewing the coffee and more time enjoying it. J

The typewriter

There is no single answer to the question who was the first real inventor of the typewriter? What we do know is, that in 1808, Pellegrino Turri supplied a typewriter to a blind countess whose letters have been preserved up to this day.

Pretzels

What can be better than a warm, freshly-baked pretzel sprinkled with salt crystals and dipped in yellow mustard dressing? Surprisingly enough, we have an Italian monk to thank for this yummy treat. In 610, he was baking unleavened bread for Lent when he had a brilliant idea to reward the small children who had learned their prayers. He twisted the dough so it looked like arms crossing the chest in supplication, baked it, and named it "pretiola", or "little reward" in Latin. When 'pretiola' arrived in Germany, they started to call it 'bretzel'.And 1400 years later we are still munching on the monk's delicious invention.

Violin

The first violin was created by Andrea Amati in Cremona. The knowledge of violin making continued to pass through the Amati family for several generations. Eventually, the highly prized and secret method of creating violins found its way to two men: Antonio Stradivari (1644-1737) and Andrea Guarneri (1626-1698). Very few violins from this era still exist, they are the most expensive and most highly prized violins today. The Vieuxtemps Guarneri violin, named after a 19th century musician Henri Vieuxtemps, was put up for auction this year for an astounding price of million, making it the most expensive musical instrument in the world!

Modern Banks

Strange as it may sound, the first modern banks appeared not in Switzerland, but in Genoa in 12th century. During this time there was a need to transfer large sums of money to finance the Crusades, allowing the movement of money without the usual risk of robbery while traveling. In 1156 two Genoese brothers borrowed 115 pounds and agreed to reimburse the bank's agents in Constantinople the sum of 460 bezants one month after their arrival in that city. This is known as the earliest foreign exchange contract. It is worth mentioning that the world's oldest bank still in business can also be found in Italy. It is the Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena and it has been operating since 1472.

Jacuzzi

The invention of the Jacuzzi (pronounced "Yakutzi" in Italy) is often attributed to Roy Jacuzzi, an Italian immigrant to the US. However, there is some evidence that the real inventor was Candido Jacuzzi, who in 1968 incorporated jets into the sides of the tub to help his 15-month-old son, suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, relieve pain.

It is certain that after the Jacuzzi Brothers introduced their Whirlpool bath at a California's Orange County Fair, it quickly became a symbol of a luxurious lifestyle!

Single Cup Coffee - A Guide to the Options

Single Cup Coffee - A Guide to the Options

ItemTitle

Single cup coffee refers to the type of coffee that's produced from single portion pods or containers - typically using single cup coffee makers specific to the particular brand or type of container. There are currently five main types or formats - Coffee Pods, Tassimo T Discs, Keurig K Cups, Nespresso Capsules and Nescafe Dolce Gusto Capsules, as we explain below.

First though, the common features...

They all allow you to brew a fresh cup of coffee, with only a minimum of waiting time and a minimum of preparation/attention required.

Single cup coffee making does away with the need to grind your own beans and reduces the actions to that of ensuring that there's enough water in the machine, switching it on, then when hot (which normally only takes a minute of so) inserting the pod/capsule/disc and pressing a button to produce the freshly brewed coffee.

The machines are also typically quite compact, so don't take up too much space on your kitchen counter or your desk! One thing to note is that it's typically only the higher-end machines that can produce a true espresso, which is typically accepted as requiring a pressure of 9 bars or more, but may people find the drinks produced by the other machines perfectly acceptable, while being extremely convenient to use.

As mentioned above, single cup coffee comes in five main formats:

Coffee Pods - While these are the most common, interchangeable option, you do need to be aware that the 'standard' pod size is the 62mm size, as there are also 44mm and 55mm pods/machines. If you stick to the 62mm machines, such as the Philips Senseo single cup coffee makers or the Krups Home Cafe range, you'll find that you have the widest range of choices, from both the producers of the single cup coffee markers as well as from independent sources. - A main source for this type of coffee pod is the Senseo Douwe Egberts range, which currently has a number of sub-ranges, covering the traditional coffee strengths such as Decaffeinated, Medium Roast, Dark Roast and Expresso, featured blends such as Sumatra Blend, Brazil Blend, Kenyan Blend and Colombia Blend together with other flavors such as Breakfast Blend, Creme Brulee, Chocolate and Paris (French Vanilla). Tassimo T Discs - These work with the Tassimo range of single cup coffee makers, which are able to read the bar code on the discs, which allow the machine to adjust it's processing according to the specific needs of the selected disk, including being able to use a 'milk' disc when making cappuccinos, etc. - The Tassimo system takes advantage of the capability to adjust the processing according to the particular requirements of the selected drink, so it's able to dispense a range of drinks from premium coffees, crema coffees, real milk cappuccinos and lattes, espressos, hot chocolates and even teas. Keurig K Cups - These work with the Keurig range of single cup coffee makers and fit between the T Discs and the Coffee Pods, in that there are more flavors or variations available than for T Discs, but fewer than the 'open' Coffee Pod format. - Keurig have partnered with a range of independent companies to provide a huge range of K-Cup varieties, including coffee sources such as Green Mountain Coffee, Diedrich Coffee Roasters, Van Houtte and Timothy's, Tea brands such as Celestial Seasonings, Bigelow's and Twinings. They have a large range of blends, covering categories including Extra Bold Roasts (30% more coffee per brew), Dark, Medium & Light Roast, Flavored, Decaffeinated, Fair Trade Certified and Organicm as well as Teas and Hot Cocoa. Nespresso Capsules - As might be expected by now, the Nespresso Capsules only work with Nespresso single cup coffee makers, with the difference here being that these are the machines that can provide a true espresso, utilizing pressures in excess of the accepted minimum of 9 BAR to force the water through the ground coffee. - One thing to be aware of with the Nespresso system is that while the Nespresso machines are available in various retail locations, the Nespresso capsules are not, but rather have to be purchased directly from Nespresso, either online, via phone or mail or at Nespresso Boutiques. As a result, the 'running costs' tend to be somewhat higher than for other systems, which might need to be taken into consideration before purchasing a Nespresso single cup coffee maker. Nescafe Dolce Gusto Capsules - These are relatively new to the market, but are backed by Nescafe and Krups. There's a certain overlap between Nescafe's Nespresso range and this range, but the focus of the Dole Gusto range appears to be on the home market and allowing them to cup a wider range of drinks that just espressos, which is the focus of the Nespresso. - The Dolce Gusto capsule range include Caffe Americano, Mocha, Espresso, Chococino, Cappuccino as well as variations such as Cappuccino Skinny and Cappuccino Ice.

The Nespresso range is probably the option for the true enthusiast, although the Nescafe Dolce Gusto range also uses a professional-level 15-bar pressure system and is worth considering. If new to single cup coffee makers, however, it might be worth starting with a Coffee Pod machine such as the Philips Senseo before seeing if investing in a more expensive system is needed.

Finally, one tip - the results from all the systems can often be improved if you are able to ensure that your mug is warmed before adding the coffee - Give it a try!

A Good 6 Cup Coffee Maker No One Would Recommend

ItemTitle

It is because this 6 cup coffee maker is not well known, that is the reason why people are not recommending? Well, I can assure you that this is definitely not the reason, this is a coffee machine that is very well known.

If most of the folks that are giving feedback on coffee brewers are having the mindset similar to mine, then it would be a case of not taking this machine seriously. Well, to start with, this maker does not even look like it can really works, it look so cute! But, it has to be cute, because this is the hello kitty brewer.

Now you would have to agree with me that this is one machine that is on par, if not better known than your usual Bunn or Senseo. And if you agreed with me on this, then you would also be nodding your head agreeing that this fellow looks more like a toy than a coffee machine. And, it is after trying it out, that I think this fellow needs some positive feedback as it has been grossly misunderstood! This is not only a good looking 6 cup coffee maker, it brews pretty good coffee too!

For people that have been reading my articles on coffee machines, I usually award high marks for brewers that are good looking, and of course, this hello kitty machine would definitely score high with its pretty pink theme and matching kitty mascot. And using a removable filter basket, its primary value add is the saving on filter paper and of course most environmentalist would agreed that this is a green machine by not wasting paper.

Its set-up is similar to that of a very basic drip filter brewer, and with the right temperature, soft water and well maintained machine (especially the filter basket), this machine does as good a coffee as any other machine.

What surprises me is the attention to details that the Sanrio folks invested into this coffee machine, that it even comes with a anti-drip feature. This is a value add, I think only higher priced machines would have. I always like things that are easily measured and this hello kitty coffee brewer has a water tank that comes with easy to read water marking that would satisfy this area.

Of course, belonging to the drip filter genre, this machine also comes with a warmer plate. While, warmer plate is not my personal favorite, as I do think they are useful in keeping coffee fresh, I see it essential in this instance. Just imagine how weird or out of place a pink hello kitty theme would like, with a thermal carafe. So, the usual carafe would have to be in place to ensure that the integrity of the pink look and feel is maintained.

So, should you get this coffee maker? Well, retailing at just , personally, I think this is the perfect gift for ladies especially those that loves these cute stuff. Of course, they also must like to brew coffee. Then, it would make a great gift for this group of folks.

Gloria Jean's Coffee: Gloria Jean's might be the best brand to choose when you are seeking excellence in flavored varieties. They only have three different roasts of classic coffee - all of which are still great - but then have another 10 or so flavors. In addition, Gloria Jean's is also the best brand for Keurig K cups with tea. They have half a dozen tea flavors which get the highest ratings among any other tea variety available for a Keurig coffee maker.

Newman's Own: While companies like Green Mountain and Timothy's produce dozens of different varieties, blends, flavors and roasts, Newman's Own Organics sticks with only two variations. They have what they call their special blend, and they have a decaf version of it as well. Both are excellent and there are no frills attached.

Diedrich Coffee Roasters: Another company that focuses less on quantity and instead hones in on just a few varieties is the folks over at Diedrich Coffee Roasters. They make a handful of different blends and roasts that cover the spectrum for any coffee lover.

There are many other brands of Keurig K cups on the market today, but these are the best and most enjoyed K cups coffee makers out there today. It will be hard to go wrong with any of these brands, so find the flavors or styles that work best for you and enjoy!

7 Health Benefits Of Drinking Coffee

ItemTitle

Did you know that coffee can actually do a lot more than simply give you a boost in the morning? There are actually a number of health benefits to drinking coffee regularly. So, before you make the switch to herbal tea, read on to learn more about what coffee can do for you and your body.

Reduced Gall Stones

The Harvard School of Public Health recently published a study indicating that drinking caffeinated coffee on a regular basis can dramatically decrease the incidence of gall bladder disease and gall stones in both women and men.

Reduced Risk for Alzheimer's Disease

Two studies, one published in the European Journal of Neurology, have shown that individuals who drank about 2 cups of caffeinated coffee per day were less likely to develop Alzheimer's disease than individuals who drank no coffee or a small to moderate amount.

Reduced Risk for Parkinson's Disease

Studies have shown that the amount of coffee and caffeine consumed could be inversely related to an individual's likelihood of contracting Parkinson's disease. This means the more coffee you drink, the lower your chances are for developing the disease.

Antioxidants and Cancer-Fighting Properties

Coffee is a powerful source of antioxidants - agents that combat cancer-causing free radicals. Coffee is chock full of the compound methylpyridinium, which can't be found in many other food items and not at the level available in coffee. You can get antioxidants from both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee as long as the beans are sufficiently roasted.

Increased Cognitive Ability

Studies have shown that regular coffee drinkers frequently score significantly higher on cognitive ability tests, spatial awareness exams, IQ tests, and short term memory studies.

The effects of coffee on an individual's cognitive ability appeared to be more pronounced in elderly study participants and women.

Bowel Stimulation

Coffee is a stimulant and also a laxative. Some alternative practitioners even prescribe coffee enemas to stimulate the lower colon.

However, because coffee is also a diuretic, it can cause constipation in some individuals.

Reduced Risk for Gout

A large study of over 45,000 men that was conducted over a 12-year period showed the amount of coffee consumed was inversely related to their risk or likelihood of developing gout.

Remember, everything should be practiced in moderation, and health concerns should always be discussed with a medical professional. So, while a moderate amount of coffee has its benefit, an excessive amount can also cause problems. Heavy coffee drinking can lead to irritability, anxiety, sleep deprivation, cardiovascular problems and higher cholesterol levels.

Are Keurig Coffee Makers Or Tassimo Coffee Makers Better?

ItemTitle

Which of the popular coffee maker pods should you choose? The two most popular options are Keurig coffee makers and Tassimo coffee makers. They provide similar functionality but there are several differences between the two brands that can help you make your decision.

It's important to note to begin with that you can't go wrong with either of these two choices. Both companies are very highly rated and the people who buy them are almost always thrilled with their decisions. So the choice between a Keurig and a Tassimo isn't life or death, it really comes down to personal preferences.

Keurig Coffee Makers
Keurig has at least six different main models that run the gamut in terms of price range and features. The good news is that even the cheapest models, coming in at around or produce the same great coffee in the same quick time as the more expensive models.

The differences lie in style, design and the size of the water reservoir, as well as intended use. For example, they have a model designed specifically as an office coffee maker that is built to be rugged and withstand a constant bombardment of uses.

The coffee maker pods for Keurig are called K Cups. Keurig produces their own wide range of flavors and tastes. In addition, they have partnerships with many popular coffee manufacturers. You can get your Keurig K Cups with Caribou Coffee, Green Mountain, Newman's Organics, Emeril's and many others.

Tassimo Coffee Makers

Tassimo has their machines made by both Bosch and Braun. There are less total models available and while there are cheap options, on the whole they are a bit more expensive than what Keurig offers.

However, they are extraordinarily fast. With a Tassimo you can make your coffee in under a minute from start to finish, offering extreme convenience and ease of use. Another benefit to the Tassimo brand is that their coffee maker pods come in Starbucks coffee flavors. No other pods offer Starbucks, so if you're a fiend for them and want to indulge at your home or office, than it makes sense to go and get a Tassimo.

The bottom line is that both Keurig coffee makers and Tassimo coffee makers are extremely easy to use and produce great coffee. With Keurig you will have more choices in terms of the coffee that is available and the models. With Tassimo you will be able to enjoy Starbucks coffee in less than a minute. Both brands are popular and loved by those who use them.
